Early Church Controversies

Point to Important Philosophical Issues

The early church controversies raise many questions without answering any of them in a satisfying way.

In the end all orthodox dogma is based in appeal to authority which is to the philosophical mind evidence that Christian belief is not in any way based in reality.

Dogmatic beliefs, like the trinity, originated in the decision of church counsels headed by an absolute emperor, hardly an encouraging reason to accept them as real fact.

Other things are based in Scripture as if something written at some ancient time by no one really knows who is a suitable definer of reality.

Reality at this scale is difficult to define but that is no reason to default to such questionable sources.

The Issues at the Heart of the Controversies

The Relationship of Physical Matter to Spirit (Abstract Reality/Non-Physical Things)

Determinism or Non-Predestined Process

Anthropomorphism

The Nature of Morality

The Being of God, the Personality of God and the Relationship of these Two Aspects of Reality.

Origin of Our World

Origin of Us

Human Nature

All of the questions are answered by reasonable explanation in Limitation Philosophy’s cosmological system.
